Patrick Conley is the Director of IBC Operations at Clinical Biosafety Services, a subsidiary of Sabai Global. In this role, Patrick and his team of credentialed biosafety and clinical safety professionals provide Institutional Biosafety Committee, Biosafety, and Infection Prevention services to healthcare providers, nurses, and clinical research personnel conducting human gene transfer research at clinics and hospital facilities across the continental United States and beyond.
As a dedicated biosafety professional and industrial hygienist, Patrick has focused on developing value driven safety programs and services supporting basic research, translational medicine, patient care, and community education. Patrick has a bachelor’s in Microbiology and a master’s degree in Industrial Hygiene, as well as is a certified Biosafety Professional, a licensed Emergency Medical Technician, and a certified Mold Consultant.
Prior to coming to Clinical Biosafety Services, Patrick spent 7 years working on sexually transmitted diseases, invasive diseases, biotoxins, and select agents and toxins and 13 years as a Director within the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center’s Office of Safety and Business Continuity. Through his director’s role, Patrick managed UT Southwestern’s Institutional Biosafety Committee, Chemical Safety Committee, select agent and toxin program, biosafety program, chemical safety program, industrial hygiene program, hazardous waste program, and environmental compliance program. Additionally, through his role as the hazmat section chief of the UT Southwestern Environment of Care Committee, Patrick managed all hazardous materials and waste programs within the UT Southwestern ambulatory clinics and hospital facilities.
Patrick is a passionate safety educator, training developer, and community speaker who has worked with the S.T.A.R.S Program, UT Southwestern, and the Dallas Independent School District to encourage high school students to enter the fields of science and medicine. He and his family enjoy traveling, hiking, and the outdoor life, especially when it involves mountains, snow, and wildlife.
Michelle Keenan is a Clinical Specialist for the 3M Medical Solutions Division, Central Sterilization Product Group. Michelle has over 18 years of experience in the healthcare industry which includes the sales, and training, of sterilization monitoring products as well as sterile processing capital equipment. She is credentialed by the Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution. As a Clinical Specialist Michelle provides technical expertise and education in Sterilization Assurance Monitoring, Environmental Monitoring, and Patient Monitoring. She works with the departments to streamline processes, improve efficiency, and provide education with the end goal of improving patient outcomes. As part of her role, she conducts departmental Onsite Reviews in both Sterile Processing and Endoscopy, to ensure that facility policies, procedures, and practices are compliant with AAMI Recommended Practices. Michelle also provides Continuing Education for Nurses and Surgical Sterile Processing Technicians.
Lori Kaczmarek has been a nurse for over 35 years. She is a vascular access clinical specialist and Director of Clinical Educaon for Adhezion Biomedical. Before this, she managed vascular access teams and inserted vascular access catheters for acute care hospitals, long-term care, and sub-acute care facilities across multiple Midwest states.
Lori is the 2020 President of the Association for Vascular Access (AVA) national board of directors and served terms as secretary and director-at-large. She is a past president of the Association for Vascular Access Foundation board and the past Editor of the Journal for the Association for Vascular Access. She returned to the AVA board as Secretary for 2024.
Lori is a practice reviewer for the 2021 and 2024 Infusion Nurse Society infusion therapy standards of practice. She holds a master’s degree in nursing with a specialty in Health Care Informatics. She is a frequent speaker at national and international venues on topics related to the use of issue adhesive, standards of care for vascular access, and data collection and management.
I have 35 years in the infection control field in a variety of health care settings, including short term acute and long term acute care settings. I have been involved in program development as it relates to infection control, employee health and occupational health programs. I previously held the position of infection control director for over twenty nine years, leading a wide variety of projects including clinical program and medical protocol implementation, resource utilization and optimization, risk assessments, collaborative multidisciplinary initiatives, infection prevention strategic plans, outbreak investigation, and infection prevention program evaluation. My work has led to the development of infection prevention programs that have exceeded national benchmarks for healthcare-associated infections in the short-term and long-term acute care programs. I have experience providing infection prevention services for physician office practices, outpatient dialysis services, dental laboratory, and office practices as well as long-term care facilities. In addition, my work has led to the development of an effective infection prevention program that has demonstrated Domain 2 infection improvements in the HAC reduction program. I am a published author in the American Journal of Infection Control and also a featured Clostridium (Clostridioides) difficile protocol on the AHRQ website. I have numerous VHA awards in performance improvement and patient safety areas. VHA’s Clinical Advantage Program was a national initiative for sharing clinical data and best practices among hundreds of hospitals.
I have led multidisciplinary teams, business divisions, and physicians, built and implemented infection prevention, national patient safety goal, and vascular access programs.
I have presented at national and international conferences.
Margaret joined Phigenics in September of 2016 as an Account Manager in the Southeast Region. She was promoted to Area Manager in the spring of 2018 followed by a promotion to Regional Manager in 2021. Margaret is responsible for business development, team coaching, and Water Management Program (WMP) development, implementation, and management throughout the Florida Region. Before joining Phigenics, Margaret worked at the University of Illinois as a research assistant and technology technician, researching the impact of environmental hazards on human life and human behavior. She worked at the University of Missouri's healthcare system as a Certified Health and Wellness Coach, contributing to strategic planning and project management in the public health arena. Cole joined Phigenics at the beginning of 2022. He is an Account Manager in the Tampa/West Florida area. His primary responsibilities include the establishment and maintenance of Water Management Programs across the region.
